Medi-Taping®

Medi-Taping®

Medi-Taping® is a gentle pain therapy for the musculoskeletal system and individual organs. As a pain-free, medication-free, and side-effect-free method, it is very well applicable to children and pregnant women. Elastic colorful tapes are applied to painful joints or body regions using a special application technique. The taped tissue is immediately relieved, pain-free, well stabilized, and normal movement patterns can be performed again within the possible range immediately. How does it work?

The Gentle Form of Pain Therapy for the Musculoskeletal System

The cause of many of our pains is usually a blockage or torsion in the sacroiliac joint or in the area of the 1st cervical vertebra. These disturbances lead to an overload of the musculature through the persistent incorrect loading, which can cause pain. If these blockages are resolved, it can lead to a significant relief of symptoms.

Each tape application is preceded by checking and, if necessary, correcting the statics. The release of tense muscle groups is the basis for the success of a tape application according to the Medi-Taping® method by Dr. Sielmann.

The tape itself is a supportive measure. The elastic tapes are applied to the painful joints or body regions. The taped tissue is optimally stabilized, allowing normal movement patterns to be performed within the possible range. Enhanced by movement, they cause a constant micromassage through the skin. The pain receptors are directly influenced, acupuncture points are stimulated, the musculature is relaxed, blood circulation and lymph flow are stimulated. Edema fluid (water retention in the tissue) and inflammatory secretions are excreted more quickly, thus restoring the physiological balance of the musculature and tissue. The tape activates the body’s own healing impulses. Freedom from pain becomes possible.

Through the stimulation of certain skin zones, Medi-Taping® can also influence internal organs (viscera-cutaneous reflex)

A tape should be worn for several days and lasts up to two weeks without losing its effect. Acute complaints often respond relatively quickly to a tape application. For chronic complaints, the Medi-Taping® method can be used supportively over several weeks. Depending on the pain symptoms, re-taping can be done. Much movement is desired. Showering and bathing are allowed. Allergies to the tape are very rare.

Main difference between Medi-Taping® and classical taping is the tape itself
Elastic tape in Medi-Taping®

The goal is to maintain full freedom of movement of skin, joints, and musculature.

Largely rigid tape in classical taping

uses an inelastic tape material. The goal is immobilization or targeted restriction of the range of motion, mechanical stability, and relief of the affected joint.
